Most of the pins these days come with either butterfly or rubber clutches. Both are great basic options. I used to ship pins with both, but rubber turned out to be more sturdy and lasted longer than butterfly ones. All of my pins now come with rubber backing that's softer to the skin and lasts better than butterfly clutches.
But there are only a few options to lock your pins in place in the most secure way possible. Most of the tie tack and collectible pins from the 80s and 90s used to come in with these deluxe clutches. They lock the pin for good and I have not lost one pin since I started putting these on all my bags and jackets. I'm happy to bring these deluxe clutches to the store. They are an essential add-on for any pin collector or frequent pin buyer.
